The Snow Child

The Snow Child - 4.5 stars.“We never know what is going to happen, do we? Life is always throwing us this way and that. That’s where the adventure is. Not knowing where you’ll end up or how you’ll fare. It’s all a mystery, and when we say any different, we’re just lying to ourselves. Tell me, when have you felt most alive?”This book was utterly gorgeous. The prose is flawless and natural in such a way that you can almost feel as if you are the one in this unrelenting Alaskan wilderness. This book will make you feel the effort of each step forward in one the darkest winters. Filled with heartache, emotion, sadness and longing, it will captivate you from the beginning and will stay with you long after you finish it. I was prepared to give it 5 stars but the ending disappointed me. I like books with open endings but I feel like this one needed to have its own conclusion. Otherwise, I highly recommend this.
